Every time I see a view from above of Belfast’s surroundings I can’t avoid being amazed by the beauty of this town. I was told that Cave Hill is one of the best places to have a bird-eye view over the Belfast Bay. It’s hard to disagree. Cave Hill walk starts from the Belfast Castle and leads up to the top of the hill. This is a challenging circular route that passes through the woodland and its caved, and finally climbs on to a plateau. The path offers fabulous views over the city and Belfast Lough.
The entire walk is about 5.4 miles. We chose to go up the hard way and have the easy walk while going down… I think that was a good choice and gave us a fantastic time. At the end of our walk, we sat in the gardens of the Belfast castle and enjoyed the warmth of the sun. We were tired, but the walk is well worth the effort!
